Live Aid took place forty years ago this month, on July 13, 1985 at Wembley Stadium in London and the now-long-gone John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia. '80s HADES tips its lightning-bolt cap to the event by playing a bunch of songs that were performed at Live Aid. These are mostly studio versions, but there are a few live cuts, including one that was recorded at Live Aid.

I watched parts of the event throughout the day, but I wasn't that into live music (yet) and couldn't watch those old cathode-ray TVs for more than a couple of hours at a stretch without getting a headache, so I cannot claim to have seen the entire thing.

On this week's show, we celebrated two albums that had birthdays this month, including one that was released on June 17, 1985. We heard the albums in their entirety, plus a few bonus tracks. Full disclosure -- this isn't my best work, which is unfortunate, because I was pretty excited about this show. I was discombobulated for several reasons while on the air -- my own failure to list the tracks in Confessor before going on air, a defiant and persnickety CD player, three or four people in the building doing stuff (I'm usually alone)....it happens.
